Samsung outs Buy One, Get One free deal for its fast charge wireless charging pad

From this point on and up until March 19, there's a nice deal to be had if you're interested in purchasing a Samsung wireless charger with fast charging capabilities. If you're in the US and opt to buy from Samsung's own online store, then you're in for a treat.
Basically you'll pay for one charger but will actually be receiving two. Yes, it's another of those BOGO (Buy One, Get One free) deals. The wireless charging pad costs $69.99, and shipping is free. It's available in white and black.
And if you'll be using it with the Galaxy S6 edge+ or the Note5, it will fast charge those devices, meaning they'll go from 0 to 100% battery 50 minutes faster than what you'd get from a normal wireless charging pad. That said, the pad is Qi compatible, so it will work just fine with other devices that comply with the Qi standard. It's just not going to be faster than any other Qi wireless charging pad in this case.

Leaked photo shows redesigned antenna lines on the iPhone 7

It' still early for the iPhone 7, but alleged photos from the production line have already made their way on the web. The major change on the back (well, according to rumors) is the dual camera, but it seems Apple has redesigned the antenna too.
A close-up of the bottom shows the plastic lines, which weren't our favorite design element on the iPhone 6 generation, have been retraced. The new lines stick closer to the top and bottom edge, leaving the metal back mostly undisturbed. The lines seem slimmer too, another bonus.

Leaked photos: Antenna lines • The whole back
These lines are vital to prevent death grip (the loss of signal if your hand bridges any of the antennas) and companies have been looking for ways to hide them. LG recently found a way to make them invisible (but they can still be felt in the hand).

First official Huawei P9 teaser confirms dual camera setup

There have already been rumors about Huawei P9 featuring a dual rear camera setup, and now the arrangement has been officially confirmed thanks to the first official teaser of the device which has recently been outed by the company.

As for other specs, latest rumors say the handset is powered by a Kirin 950 chipset and sports a 5.2" 1080p screen. RAM is 3GB and internal storage is 32GB. Camera department is handled by a 5MP front shooter and a 12MP dual rear camera setup with support for OIS.
The device is going to be just 6.4mm thick, pack in a 3,000mAh battery, and run Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI. Said to carry a $500 price tag, the P9 is expected to be made officialon April 6, along with some of its variants including the P9 Max and P9 Lite.

Lenovo phablet powered by Windows 10 leaks

If you recall, Lenovo was supposed to launch Windows 10 phones somewhere around mid last year. That, as we know, didn't happen, but the Chinese company hasn't given up the development of such devices. The proof came in the form of a Windows-powered Lenovo handset that just leaked.
Spotted at a Microsoft event in China today, the handset is clearly a phablet sporting a metal frame with rounded corners. The Lenovo branding is on the top-left and a button with Windows logo is at the bottom-center.
Sadly, nothing else - including the specs as well as pricing and availability - is currently known at this point.

Huawei P9, P9 Max and P9 Lite specs and price revealed

Well, this spoils the mystery - Oppomart published the details of the Huawei P9 and its friends, the P9 Max and P9 Lite.

Huawei P9

The Huawei P9 is the mid-sized option with a 5.2" 1080p screen. It features special display RAM, which allows static content on the screen to be rendered while using very little power.
The metal-clad phone features a 12MP dual camera setup on its back, which has Optical Image Stabilization, which is a first (previous dual-cam efforts lacked OIS). The camera also has Laser focus, selfies are handled by a 5MP shooter.
The P9 is powered by a Kirin 950 chipset with 3GB of RAM (LPDDR4 1866MHz) and has 32GB of built-in storage. It will launch with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI.
The phone is quite thin - just 6.4mm - but packs a big battery, 3,000mAh (for comparison, the Galaxy S7 is 7.9mm thick). You also get dual-SIM and global LTE connectivity.
The Huawei P9 is priced at $500, but keep in mind this may not be the final price.

Huawei P9 Max

The Huawei P9 Max earns its name with a massive 6.2" screen and resolution goes up to QHD (1,440 x 2,560px).
The processing power has been enhanced too, with a Kirin 955 chipset and 4GB of RAM, storage doubled to 64GB. The software is the same, Android 6.0 + EMUI.
Other than that you get the same 12MP duo camera with OIS and Laser focus, but a better 8MP selfie camera. Unfortunately, the battery remains at 3,000mAh capacity, despite the general growth in size. It's the same thickness too, 6.4mm.
The Huawei P9 Max is set as a flagship at $700.

Huawei P9 Lite

Not a mini, the Huawei P9 Lite has a 5" 1080p screen and you get to keep the 12MP duo camera with OIS, plus 5MP selfie cam.
The "Lite" name comes from the processing - a Snapdragon 650 chipset is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB storage.
The rest is pretty similar with dual-SIM and LTE, except for the battery, which is now a 2,500mAh Li-Po unit.
The P9 Lite is the cheapest of the three by some measure, it's priced at $300.

iPhone 5se to have 4K video recording, 12MP camera

Apple will hold an event in a few days (March 21), to announce the new iPhone 5se and likely an iPad Pro. Rumor has it that before that or maybe during the event itself, the company will demo a 4K video shot on the 5se itself. Apple employees are allegedly on location in New York shooting the footage.
The promo video itself is not so much of interest as is the 4K capability of the iPhone 5se camera. So far we've heard that it will use the Apple A9 chipset (same as the iPhone 6s), but will lack features like 3D touch.
So there were questions about just how many features Apple will drop from the 6s. Early rumors suggested an 8MP camera, but now it's looking like the 5se will sport the same 12MP/4K camera with Live photos as the 6s.
There are a few more days until the iPhone returns its 4" homeland. Until then you can have a sneak peek at this leaked photo.

On the software-side, the Mission comes bundled with apps powered by Surfline, Snocountry, and Trace. These apps are geared to action sports, allowing activity-tracking as well as letting the watch to receive real-time information.

Microsoft Lumia 550 price drops to £20. Yep, £20

Watch out for flying Lumias, Carphone Warehouse is basically throwing them at people walking by. The Microsoft Lumia 550 costs just £20 for upgrades.
No, that's not a typo - GBP 20, £20, 20 quid, whatever you want to call it. For new subscribers, the price is much "steeper" - £40 + £10 top-up.
You can read our Lumia 550 review to see if you're wondering if there's a catch. There isn't, it's just an entry-level phone that someone is selling at a loss.

Samsung starts producing 256GB storage chips for mobile devices, Note6 winks

In February, Samsung introduced 256GB storage chips for mobile devices and now it has started production of said chips.
Those chips use the latest UFS standard and will rival SATA-based SSDs that are used in computers - Samsung claims 850MB/s read speeds and 260MB/s writes (sequential).
Obviously, it's too late for the S7, but perhaps the new Galaxy Note6 can make use of these high capacity chips? It doesn't seem likely, now that Samsung re-introduced the microSD slot. After all, a 200GB microSD can be had for $80 ($60 on a good day).
Of course, they don't have anywhere near the speed of UFS memory and some current devices even boast 256GB storage, so maybe there's room for premium devices for digital packrats.

MediaTek Helio X25 will be exclusive to the Meizu Pro 6

So far the most concrete rumor about the Meizu Pro 6 was the gobs of memory it will have -6GB RAM and 128GB storage in the top configuration. It seems that the chipset will be something special too.
MediaTek held an event about its Helio line of chipsets and while it showed off the X20, its first chipset with a 10-core CPU, Meizu representatives came on stage to talk about the X25.

The MediaTek Helio X25 was co-developed with Meizu, which will have exclusive use of it and will put it in the Meizu Pro 6.
The chipset is basically an enhanced version of the X20. It has a three cluster design - 2x Cortex A72 cores and two quartets of A53.

The difference with the X20 is that the "Turbo cluster," the A72 cores, will be clocked higher (2.5GHz, up from 2.3GHz) and so will the GPU (850MHz). Despite these enhancements, the power draw should remain the same.

Part of this series are the new Q Tailor and Q Nate, but no availability information was provided at the moment.

Sony's PlayStation VR launching in October, to cost $399

Sony has announced that its PlayStation VR headset will be launched in the month of October this year, and will carry a price tag of $399 (CAD 549). The announcement was made by the company during a press conference at the ongoing GDC event.
If you remember, Sony had promised that the launch would happen in the first half of 2016. "That is a bit later than the timeframe we previously stated, and I want to thank everyone for their patience and continued support," the Japanese company said in a blog post.
As for the specs, Sony revealed that the headset features a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) OLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate, 100-degree field of view, and 360-degree tracking sensors. The device is compatible with the DualShock 4 and PS Move controllers, and requires the PlayStation Move camera that will cost extra. Users will only need a PS4 to get started with the headset.
The company revealed that over 230 developers are currently creating content for the headset, and expects around 50 games to be available by the end of this year.
